Alternative ways to visit
There are four ways to enjoy a private tour at Sandringham. Our Exclusive Access, Safari and Sparkling Garden Tours can be booked for individuals whilst the Private Guided Tour is aimed at Groups with a minimum of 20 guests.
Exclusive Access Tour with Afternoon Tea, available on Wednesdays and Fridays from March to October
Join one of our knowledgeable guides on an Exclusive Access Tour, which brings the Estate’s history to life. This tour takes in key areas of the 60-acre Gardens, before entering the House. All eight downstairs rooms used by The Royal Family feature, allowing time to marvel at the beautiful Victorian and Edwardian décor and collections of porcelain, jade, rose quartz, Russian silver gilt and bronzes, family portraits and photographs.
Sample some of our Sandringham gin, wine or apple juice in the ballroom before concluding your tour with a delicious Sparkling Tea inspired by Estate produce.
Tours take place at 9.30am, with Afternoon Tea at approximately 12.30pm, and at 1pm with Afternoon Tea around 4pm.
Safari Tour with Afternoon Tea, available on Wednesdays and Fridays at 9.30am or 1pm from March to September (up to six people)
Climb aboard our Land Rover Defender for a spectacular tour of the Sandringham Estate.
Beginning with the exterior of the House and Gardens, the tour travels through some of the wider Estate’s stunning scenery and more tranquil areas, including organic farmland and extensive forest. Discover more about areas such as The Wash, a shallow bay teeming with wildlife and the largest estuary system in the UK, and the Royal Station platform in the village of Wolferton.
You will be driven by one of our expert guides, who will share their knowledge of an area rich in wildlife such as deer, hare and birds of prey.
The tour will conclude with a delicious Afternoon Tea inspired by Estate produce.
Sparkling Garden Tour with a senior Estate gardener, available May to September
Enjoy a Sparkling Afternoon Tea followed by a guided tour of His Majesty The King’s Gardens. A senior gardener will outline the Gardens’ history, management principles and sources of inspiration in this 1½-hour tour, which includes the whimsical cottage-garden planting in the North End Garden and the symmetrical and precision planting in the Topiary Garden.
Private Guided Tour, available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5pm from March to October (minimum 20 people)
Enjoy an exclusive, after-hours group tour of the House with an experienced guide, focusing on key objects d’art collected by and gifted to members of The Royal Family over the years. The tour will leave you with an in-depth knowledge of Sandringham’s history and concludes in the ballroom sampling either our own Estate gin or apple juice.
